Stories of Hope & Transformation

Real women, real journeys — each one a testament to the power of shelter, support, and unwavering determination.

Lives Changed

Every Journey Matters

These are the women who walked through our doors carrying heavy burdens — and walked out carrying hope. Their courage reminds us every day why Pathways exists.

Chantil's Story

Commitment Created Change

When Chantil arrived at Pathways' Safe Haven program, she carried the weight of severe mental illness and years of homelessness. But she also carried something more powerful: a fierce determination to heal.

Safe Haven — our permanent supportive housing program — gave Chantil what she needed most: a stable, home-like environment with 24-hour staffing, nutritious meals, and wrap-around support. But it was Chantil herself who did the hardest work. She showed up for every appointment, every counseling session, every small step toward wellness.

Today, Chantil is thriving in permanent housing. Her journey reminds us that when you pair compassionate support with personal commitment, transformation is not just possible — it's inevitable.

Silvia's Story

Building a Future for Four

Silvia arrived at Pathways in 2025 — pregnant, and already mothering two young boys. Most people would have understood if she had paused her goals. But Silvia had a different plan.

While carrying her third child, Silvia worked tirelessly with Pathways case managers to build a foundation for her growing family. She attended parenting classes, secured healthcare for herself and her children, developed a budget, and never once let her pregnancy slow her determination.

Silvia didn't just find shelter — she built a future. Today, she and her three children have a stable home and a roadmap forward. Her story is proof that a mother's love, combined with the right support, can overcome any obstacle.

Pearlneisha's Story

Strength Through Showing Up

Pearlneisha came to Pathways carrying burdens that would have broken most people. The weight of everything she had endured was visible in her eyes. But from her very first day, she made a promise to herself: she would show up — no matter what.

Since July, Pearlneisha has kept that promise. Every single day, she has shown up for her case management meetings, for her children, for her own healing. She didn't let past trauma define her future. With the steady support of Pathways staff, she worked through the hardest chapters of her life and came out stronger on the other side.

Today, Pearlneisha has found safe, stable housing. Her resilience is a beacon for every woman who wonders if she has the strength to keep going. The answer, Pearlneisha shows us, is yes.

Alexis's Story

From Grief to Growth

When Alexis lost her son's father to gun violence, her world shattered. A new mother with a newborn in her arms, she was drowning in grief while trying to be strong for her baby. Finding Pathways became her turning point.

Pathways wrapped around Alexis like a family. Case managers connected her with grief counseling, helped her navigate housing resources, and made sure her newborn had everything needed to thrive in the Early Learning Center. The staff didn't just help Alexis find a roof — they helped her find her footing again.

Today, Alexis is rebuilding her life with strength she didn't know she had. She is a testament to the resilience of mothers and the power of a community that refuses to let anyone walk their journey alone.
